Description of UHMWPE Pipes
Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) pipe is a thermoplastic engineering plastic with a linear structure and excellent comprehensive performance. It can work for a long time at -169 to +80℃ and is called “amazing” engineering plastic. It has a moderate price and excellent performance. It combines the advantages of various plastics as it is impact-resistant, low-temperature-resistant, wear-resistant, chemical-resistant, self-lubricating, and absorbs impact energy. These six characteristics are the highest values of plastics at present. In recent years, this new type of plastic product has been widely used in Europe and the United States, and the demand is increasing.

Advantages of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) pipe
High wear resistance: 4-7 times that of steel pipe, 3 times that of ordinary PE pipe, and 4 times that of nylon. Practice has proved that ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene pipe is a commonly used wear-resistant pipe for conveying small particle slurry.
High corrosion resistance: ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has a saturated molecular structure, extremely high chemical stability, and can withstand corrosion from various corrosive media and organic solvents.
High flexibility: the elongation at break can reach more than 400%, there is a large bend during construction, and it will not break even if it is stretched to three times its own length when the earth’s crust settles.
High impact resistance: the impact strength ranks first among all kinds of plastics, 10 times that of high-density polyethylene and 6 times that of nylon. Whether it is a strong external impact or an internal pressure fluctuation or impact, it is difficult to crack it.
Low temperature resistance: excellent low temperature resistance, at minus 40℃, the impact strength reaches a high value. It can still maintain good performance at extremely low temperatures, and is particularly suitable for medium conveying pipes in cold areas.
Not easy to scale: The inner and outer walls of the pipe are smooth, with excellent non-stickiness and self-lubrication. It is difficult for scaling substances to deposit and adhere, which greatly saves the cost of pipe descaling and maintenance.
Anti-aging: The anti-aging performance is better than PE100. After 50 years of underground use, its mechanical properties only drop by 20%.
Good energy-saving effect: The friction coefficient is 0.07-0.11, the roughness is only 1/6 of the new steel pipe, the flow capacity is more than 50% higher than the steel pipe, and its inner diameter design can be reduced by about 15% compared with the steel pipe.
Safety and environmental protection: non-toxic and odorless, in line with the national drinking water pipeline use standards.
Easy to install: The weight of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene pipe is one-eighth of that of steel pipe, which greatly reduces the installation cost. The pipe connection adopts direct flanging of the pipe body and flange docking, without adding seals; socket electric hot melt welding can also be used, with high interface strength and easy operation.

1. Mining and mineral processing: Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) pipes are widely used in the mining industry due to their wear-resistant properties, such as conveying ore particles, powders, and mud and sand under mines.
