Heat fusion is based on heating two surfaces to a specified temperature and then applying enough force to cause the materials to flow and mix, thereby fusing them together. When welded according to the manufacturer’s recommended procedures and cooled to near ambient temperature, the joint will become strong in tension and compression as the pipe itself.

HDPE electrofusion fittings are a type of heat fusion, which refers to a plastic pipe fitting in which metal wires are embedded inside the pipe fitting. The metal wires can be heated by electric current to heat the resistance wire on the inner surface of the pipe fitting, thereby melting the pipe and the fitting together.

Due to the price, butt fusion fittings are used more commonly than electrofusion fittings in engineering applications. However, electrofusion fittings play an important and irreplaceable role in engineering and maintenance. In particular, electrofusion fittings are less affected by the external environment and human factors during construction, so they are more reliable and more popular with users. Operation Steps of HDPE Electrofusion Fittings Installation

1. Cut the pipe vertically and use a scraper to remove the surface oxide layer at the position of the pipe where the socket is inserted into the electric fusion pipe fitting.
2. Use a marker to mark the surface of the pipe according to the socket depth of the electric fusion pipe fitting.
3. Insert the pipe into the electric fusion pipe fitting to the depth of the marking line. After installation, the axis of the pipe coincides with the electric fusion pipe fitting.
4. Fix the pipe and the fitting with a clamp to prevent dislocation and loosening during welding.
