Acrylic sheet is polymerized by methyl methenoate monomer (MMA), that is, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) sheet plexiglass, which is a kind of plexiglass processed by special process.
Acrylic sheet material classification in the country is mainly divided into three categories: first, import plate; Second, Taiwan-funded board; Third, the domestic board. They differ in the origin and (MMA) purity of the raw materials used. This is also the key to determining the quality and price of the plate.
Acrylic sheet has good processing performance, according to the production process can be divided into casting type and extrusion type two. It can be used in hot forming (including molding, blow molding and vacuum blister), as well as mechanical processing methods such as drilling, turning, milling, cutting, etc. The mechanical cutting and engraving controlled by microcomputer not only greatly improves the processing accuracy, but also produces more exquisite patterns and shapes than the traditional way. Hardness is one of the parameters that can best reflect the production process and technology of cast acrylic sheet, and is an important part of quality control. The hardness can reflect the purity of the raw material MMA, the weatherability and high temperature resistance of the plate. The hardness directly affects whether the plate will shrink and bend and deform, and whether the surface will be cracked during processing. Hardness is one of the hard indicators to judge the quality of acrylic plate. The cast acrylic sheet had the highest hardness index at the time with an average Dallow hardness value of 90 degrees.
Acrylic casting plate: High molecular weight, excellent stiffness, strength and excellent chemical resistance. This plate is characterized by small batch processing, has unparalleled flexibility in color system and surface texture effect, and product specifications are complete, suitable for a variety of special applications.
Acrylic extrusion plate: compared with the cast plate, the extrusion plate has a lower molecular weight and slightly weaker mechanical properties. However, this feature is conducive to bending and thermoforming, and is conducive to rapid vacuum molding when dealing with larger sheets. At the same time, the thickness tolerance of the extruded plate is smaller than that of the cast plate. Because the extrusion plate is a mass automated production, the color and specifications are inconvenient to adjust, so the diversity of product specifications is limited.

4. Transparent acrylic sheet has a transmittance comparable to that of glass, but the density is only half that of glass. In addition, it is not as fragile as glass, and even if it is destroyed, it will not form sharp fragments like glass.
5. The wear resistance of acrylic plate is close to that of aluminum, with good stability and resistance to a variety of chemicals.
6. Acrylic plate has good printability and spraying, using the appropriate printing and spraying process, can give the ideal surface decoration effect of acrylic products.
7. Fire resistance: not spontaneous combustion but belong to flammable products, do not have self-extinguishing.
