PPR cold water pipes are made of random copolymer polypropylene (PPR) material, which is a new type of polymer material pipe. PPR cold water pipes are usually made of homopolymer polypropylene (HP-PP), which does not require the addition of other additives during the production process, so it has better hygienic properties.

Description of PPR Cold Water Pipe
The main difference between PPR cold water pipes and hot water pipes lies in the manufacturing materials and processes. PPR cold water pipes are usually made of homopolymer polypropylene (HP-PP), which does not require the addition of other additives during the production process, so its hygienic properties are better. PPR hot water pipes are made of copolymer polypropylene (PP-R), which has ethylene added during the production process to make it have better high temperature resistance.
Advantages of PPR Cold Water Pipe
1、Non-toxic and hygienic. The raw material molecules of PP-R only contain carbon and hydrogen elements, and no harmful or toxic elements exist. It is not only used for hot and cold water pipes, but also for pure drinking water systems.
2、Insulation and energy saving. The thermal conductivity of PP-R pipe is 0.21w/mk, which is only 1/200 of that of steel pipe.
3、Good heat resistance. The Vicat softening point of PP-R pipe is 131.5℃. The maximum working temperature can reach 95℃, which can meet the use requirements of hot water system in the building water supply and drainage specifications.
4、Long service life. Under the working temperature of 70℃ and the working pressure (P.N) of 1.OMPa, the service life of PP-R pipe can reach more than 50 years; at room temperature (20℃), the service life can reach more than 100 years.
5、Easy to install. PP-R has good welding performance. Pipes and fittings can be connected by hot melt and electric fusion. The strength of the connection part is greater than the strength of the pipe itself.
