Description of PVC-O Pipes

PVC-O pipe (BIAXIAL ORIENTED PVC PIPE) is also called biaxially oriented PVC pipe. It is a new type of pressure-bearing pipe obtained by axially and circumferentially stretching (biaxially stretching) pure PVC-U pipe in a highly elastic state. Its advantage is that through biaxial stretching of the material, the molecular chain of the material changes from a linear structure before stretching to a mesh structure after stretching, thereby improving the strength, toughness, stress cracking resistance and other properties of the material. It is the latest new generation of pressure-resistant water pipe developed.

Advantages of PVC-O pipes

1-Unparalleled low-temperature impact resistance: PVC-O pipe has unparalleled low-temperature impact resistance, and its performance is even more outstanding at low temperatures. Even at -25℃, the impact resistance of PVC-O pipes will not be significantly reduced, thus expanding the use areas of PVC-O pipes and extending the window period for pipeline construction.

2-Stress cracking resistance: The mesh laminated structure of PVC-O pipe hinders the passage of cracks in each layer, effectively preventing the propagation of cracks, thereby eliminating the risk of rapid cracking of the pipe wall.

3-Anti-fatigue properties: When a material is subjected to internal pressure for a long time, the mechanical properties of the material will decay. This property is called creep behavior, and the creep of PVC-O material is very small. This means that compared with traditional plastics, PVC-O pipes have extraordinary anti-fatigue properties, making the life of PVC-O pipes up to 100 years.

4- Excellent flexibility: Due to the excellent elasticity of PVC-O pipes, the deformation they can withstand can reach 100% of the inner diameter of the pipe. When the pipe is squeezed or a mechanical accident occurs, it can immediately return to its original shape. This minimizes the risk of rupture caused by soil settlement, sharp sand and gravel, or mechanical squeezing during construction.

5- Excellent water hammer resistance: PVC-O pipes have thinner walls and larger inner diameters, so compared with other pipe systems, the wave velocity of Euler Blue pipes is lower (four times lower than ductile iron). When the volume and pressure of the conveyed water suddenly change, the water hammer generated is lower. Therefore, when valves and pumps are opened and closed, the adverse effects of water hammer on the safe operation of the pipeline are reduced, and the operation of the pipeline network is safer.

6- PVC-O pipes greatly improve the water delivery capacity of pipelines: the higher the material strength, the stronger the pressure bearing capacity per unit wall thickness. Under the same caliber and pressure conditions, PVC-0 500 pipes have the largest water flow area and the strongest water delivery capacity.

7- Corrosion resistance: PVC-O pipes are corrosion-resistant and can transport corrosive fluids and be used in corrosive environments for a long time. They do not require special anti-corrosion protection or coatings, which also saves costs.

8- Sealing performance: PVC-O pipes are connected with elastic sealing rubber rings. Once connected, they will not shift. The pipelines are watertight and leak-proof.

9- Low installation cost and simple operation: The weight of PVC-O pipe is half of that of traditional plastic pipes and 6-12 times lighter than cast iron pipes. It is easy to carry and install. In most cases, mechanical vehicles are not required for transportation and installation. Compared with other material pipes, the installation speed is greatly improved and the installation cost is greatly reduced.

10- Safe, sanitary, environmentally friendly and energy-saving water pipeline: The biaxial stretching process of PVC-O pipe has strict requirements on the purity and formula of raw materials, which fundamentally eliminates the use of unqualified raw materials.
